What Exit Theatre Company goes ‘Lone Star’ with
Greater Tuna

by Jaston Williams, Joe Sears, and Ed Howard

directed by Carlton James

Maplewood’s What Exit Theatre Company crosses the Red-State divide with GREATER TUNA, an affectionate yet withering satire of small-town Southern life and attitudes. This hilarious comedy is set in Tuna, the third smallest town in Texas. Its eclectic band of twenty citizens of every ilk, age and gender are portrayed by Jim Ligon and Michael Irvin Pollard, two of New Jersey's most versatile comic actors.

Longtime patrons of the What Exit Company will remember Jim for his performances in “All in the Timing,” “Below the Belt,” and “The Dining Room.” Michael is making is What Exit debut, but is well-known to Jerseyan theater-goes for his work at the George Street Playhouse, the NJ Rep, Playwrights Theatre, and the Women’s Theatre Company,

So join us for a memorable day in the life of Tuna, where the Lions Club is too liberal and Patsy Cline never dies. Come and marvel as Jim and Michael play TWENTY characters -- young and old, male and female, human and canine! With rapid-fire costume changes and down-home music, Greater Tuna is the comedy hit with TEX appeal.
