| Information: | The Strollers, in its submission for the 2012 NY International Fringe Festival, is producing "The Slave Who Became A Man". The actress will portray a pre-Civil War Era enslaved house maid. In this, a true story adapted from William Crafts "Journey of 1000 Miles for Freedom", Ellen, his wife, impersonates a white male slave owner. They escaped to the North in a perilous journey to Boston, with every step a challenge to her illiteracy and disguise.
