Free Demonstration of Chair Yoga for Maplewood Senior Citizens
Chair Yoga - what is it? Please come and try it out at the next meeting of the Maplewood Senior Citizen Club on Wednesday, April 4th at l0:00 am at the DeHart Community Center, 120 Burnett Ave, Maplewood, NJ 07040. Karen Bokert and Kathleen Good, a team of certified Chair Yoga instructors, will share with you their joy in bringing strength and flexibility to your body just by doing exercises sitting in a chair. Everyone can do it. You can start at any age. You don't have to be in perfect health to participate.
This free demonstration will also include a period of relaxation and meditation so that your mind and body will feel refreshed.
The Maplewood Senior Club meets from 10:00 to 12:00 noon on the first Wednesday of each month from September through May at the DeHart Community Center. Maplewood residents 60 and older may join. Visitors are welcome. The Center’s phone number is (973) 763-0750.
The program starts around 10:30 am following a short business meeting. Refreshments are served and a $1.00 donation to help defray the expense of the refreshments is requested from of everyone attending except first-time visitors. Annual dues are $8.00
The Club is also accepting applications for new members. Registration is open to residents of Maplewood who are age 60 and over. The club has a variety of activities, including movies, entertainment, parties, and trips. For additional information or to join, please contact the Community Center at 973-763-0750.
