| "Flamenco Music & Dance for Kids" | | Date: | February 25th, 2012 | | Time: | 11:00am | | Information: | The Maplewood Department of Recreation and Cultural Affairs is proud to present a special series of performances that will introduce young listeners to the joys of music. The popular "Music for Kids" series gives families a chance to experience live music in a relaxed setting. The programs are presented at the Burgdorff Center for the Performing Arts at 10 Durand Road in Maplewood (corner of Maplewood Avenue & Durand). Performances are interactive and children and families are encouraged to participate. There are two shows, 9:30am and 11:00am. Tickets are $5 per person at the door.
Next up on February 25th is “Flamenco Music & Dance for Kids.” Bring the kids to this interactive workshop with professional flamenco dancer and teacher, Antonia Messina (VivaFlamencoNJ), where they will stamp their feet, clap to music and shout Ole! Antonia, guitarist and other dancers, will perform, demonstrate and get the kids up and active in this 45-minute introduction to the passionate, fiery music of gypsies from Southern Spain.
