| Cheese making: Jane's Whey at Durand-Hedden | | Date: | March 7th, 2010 | | Time: | 1:00pm | | Information: | Back by popular demand in honor of Women’s History Month, pioneer history expert Jane Chrysostom, will “edutain” visitors in the once essential skill of making cheese, which had a surprising importance on farms and homesteads. She will demonstrate the ancient processes that occur as natural enzymes and temperature changes transform milk. Visitors will be able to see the development of “curds and whey” and enjoy a tasting session of delicious freshly made cheese. Demonstrations will take place at 1:30 and 3:00 p.m.
Also, on view from 1:00 – 4:00 p.m., the highly acclaimed new exhibit on Maplewood architecture: “Edward C. Balch: Early 20th c. Maplewood Builder and Visionary” and The Country Store will be open with unique souvenirs and books. For more information call 973-763-3849.
